The Lady of the Solstice

Comes winter, cernunnos, the Erlkonig goes to rest.
The crown is passed down. The lady of the solstice takes office.
She reign over winter, the bite of the wind for arrows.
Wilderness at her command, Stillness and silence her songs.

I created this character as a representation of nature. Over here in Canada, nature is as it's most fierce during winter. That's what I wanted to invoke in this character. The concept started as female version of the Erlkonig, a fae creature famous for organising wild hunts. Then I incorporated elements from diverse cultural background like the Yuki-Onna (a snow spirit) and the goddess Artemis. I portray her as a solitary, shy yet deadly creature, a personnification of the stillness of winter.
